The Paris couture shows have been quite the event, what with Raf Simons showing his first Dior show, the pressure was on for Paris’ other couturiers to meet the hype.
Karl Lagefeld went for a more relaxed and much more French country vibe with loosely tailored tweeds in pretty pastels, allowing beauty to take centre stage.
Backstage models looked charmingly gallic in floral or beaded crochet beanies, which from the front seemed to be ornate hairbands. Frame-facing wispy strands of hair added to the louche undercurrent, whilst nails painted in pale pink and silver were decidedly futuristic.
The colours combined the silver eyeshadow and pastel pink lips on models’ faces; proving, not only, that nail art is not a passing phase, but that couture can still look forward.
