Despite being seen on the A/W12 catwalks by the likes of Mary Katrantzou, and the tiny heads of trendies everywhere, the top bun shows no signs of relenting, thanks to Valentino Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli.
The Valentino show was an assemblage of midnight blue and red gowns in silks and peek-a-boo chiffon, and was a tribute to understated elegance.
The Beauty backstage reflected this, as models’ faces were left bare, except for a little colour on the lips, whilst the top-bun was given a sleek make-over with hair scraped back- minus two parallel strands- into a more conical bun.
