Natasha Poly backstage at Gucci.
Deep red backstage at Rochas.
In no way as big a trend as dark eyes, the image of wine-soaked lips has been a trend for seasons now- be it Autumn or Spring; yet the look shows no signs of relenting, even if at micro trend status.
As the heat subsides- hopefully for only a day- plummy, claret coloured lips just seem so right.
Proving a constant comfort- there is something so warming, yet also so gothic. Dark red lips exude glamour, risk, confidence and a rebellious refusal to be girly. One needs only to look at Lana Del Rey at this year’s Met Ball or Natasha Poly backstage at Gucci.

Wear red lips now perfectly precise and fully coated, and as the ideal antidote to the heavily kohled or mega-winged eye that will define next Autumn.
