White nails were a huge trend last summer, but for some reason I wasn’t feeling it- I’m more of a tropical nail girl in summer.
They were seen on everyone from Rihanna to Miley Cyrus, they graced red carpets, campaigns and street style blogs.
It seemed the trend had disappeared along with summer’s warmth, until Blake Lively went old-school (if summer can be old-school)showing them off in Paris and her debut L’Oreal advert.
When Blake’s beatnik-inspired L’Oreal photos exploded online, it wasn’t just her smokey Bardot eyes that caught Blush‘s attention, it was her nails, so white, so opaque, so wintery. Even Blake loved her new ice age nails so much, that she wore them all through Paris, whilst rocking next season Balmain.
The best thing about missing a trend is that when you start to wear it, it suddenly feels new again. Now that Winter Wonderland is on its way and ice-rink dates are on the horizon, I think it’s the perfect time to bring out the white nails.
Rag & Bone championed the trend for last summer, but as you can see from Cara’s look (below) they’re the perfect companion to a bright red lip and a bold brow.
You heard it here first, it’s all about white nails for winter.
