Red is the colour of seduction, passion, a fiery temperament. White is the symbol of innocence, youth and a vision of broderie anglaise. Right at their centre is pink, striking the perfect balance between both. A mixture of fragility and strength, innocence and awareness.
When mixed with black pink is enigmatic, dynamic and strong. It is Hedi Slimane’s 2014 80’s rock chick at Saint Laurent. In its fairer form, pink is macaroons, peonies at the doorway of Liberty’s or a blushing ingenue. It is Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton in S/S12. It is romance, alleviation. Quite simply it is pretty, but it is also optimism and (as we continue to wrap our bodies in the fuzziness of it’s wool) it is the focus of Nars’ New Year perspective.
Final Cut is the latest limited edition range from make-up maestros Nars; an exploration of the colour pink, from a modern perspective. Relishing in pink’s new found status as a seductive shade, Nars have dedicated a whole collection to the colour.
From charming cherry blossom and tea rose to punchy peach coral and an alluring lavender pink, the four varieties come with matching blush powders (£22.50) and satin lip pencils (£18), as well as a pearlescent illuminator to bring the looks together. The rosy array can either be partnered together for a tidy total look, or mismatched as an unexpected duo.
Whether your pink of choice is a bold, Schiaparelli-shocking magenta or a powdery pastel, it is the height of femininity and even more achievable thanks to Nars.
