In light of this many lipsticks are often overlooked. Case in point Laura Mercier whose reds are always a winner. I loved their lipsticks for last season which came in chunky grown up packaging, which were always a joy to whip out of your bag. This season they’ve decided upon a slim rectangle clutch-friendly number, with a more matte finish. These lipstick are pure elegance and come in a range low-key shades, perfect for this season’s pare back aesthetic.
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip lacquers
When I was recommended Soap & Glory’s lip lacquers I was assured they were a must -have and if you’re after an ultra-glossy finish they are.
The lip lacquers come packaged like glosses but unlike a gloss they are opaque and more akin to a glossy lipstick. I tried Whoppink– a bright bubblegum pink, Muse Bouche a deep punchy pink and Riot– a classic scarlet red. The glosses are made with the same formula as their Sexy Mother Pucker, so lips are plumped as well as hydrated. The lacquers are pretty out there but if you’re looking for a high-impact look, these are the lipsticks for you.
