I’ve always opted for threading over waxing, mainly because the only time I had my eyebrows threaded I cried like a baby. So you could imagine my trepidation when I was invited along to sample a brow treatment at Blink. Thankfully I needn’t have worried. I walked up to the Blink counter on the ground floor of Selfridges -which has recently been transformed into heaven for beauty enthusiasts- to be greeted by a smiling receptionist with brows groomed to perfection; it seemed I was in very safe hands.
After I was checked in she asked me to take a seat in whichever chair I felt comfortable in. Within the minute a beautician welcomed me and asked me what I wanted from the appointment. After I mumbled: “I think I just want a touch up, but want to keep them thick”, the beautician had a look at my brows and suggested on using a pencil after to fill in my gaps. Within seconds she reclined my chair, a restored vintage barber chair in ladylike pastel, and got to work.
I’m not sure if it was her calming presence or the angle of the chair but my second threading experience was a treat in comparison to my first.
