It’s Payday!! Time for Tom Ford

Today’s pay day and that only means one thing. Time to Splurge!

For those of you who have been buying Tom Ford Beauty since it’s inception, you will understand the value of the white cases. The rectangular ivory lipstick cubes and their accompanying varnish tops have garnered cult status mainly because they mark you out as being ahead of the curve; buying Tom Ford when he returned to the industry with only beauty in mind. Whilst the mahogany cases are still home to his core collection and the most hard-working nude of all, Sable Smoke, there is something unsurprisingly summery about the reintroduction of the ivory cases for Spring.

Re-released as limited edition for Summer 2014, getting your hands on one now will avoid disappointment later and guarantee bragging points when they never return again. Much like a vintage YSL or first edition Chanel 2.55, Tom Ford’s white cases are heirlooms, and whilst there won’t be any lipstick left for my offspring, they will most definitely want my case.

Whilst the dedicated few may be able to boast about their first edition white cases, they won’t be able to brag about the palette, set for release this April. Not only does the ivory and gold palette resemble a fruity tablet, gigantic in it’s grandeur (to allow you to maintain the illusion that you’re carrying around the FT app),  but it also holds the largest mirror known to man. Meaning you can dabble in the striking cobalt blue shadow and coral blush, whilst your BFF samples the gold shimmer shadow and the rose pink blush.

Whilst the palette ensures your eyes and cheeks maintain a subtle, or if you’ve gone for the blue, striking allure, the lips can’t be left out.
The SS14 collection features 8 sheer lipsticks, ranging from the nude In the Buff,  Pink Dune and Bitter Sweet, worn in the campaign by Bette Adewole and favourite of make-up artist Ruby Hammer. It’s the perfect shade for a wedding or to counter the cobalt eyes.

As always the lipsticks are infused with Vitamins C, E and Shea Butter.
The other shades are an array of punchy pinks and corals (Incorrigible, Sweet Spot, Summer Fling,) with- my favourite Lip Colour, Firecracker– a vibrant orange,  thrown in for good measure; Perfect for this season’s love for orange, as demonstrated on the catwalks of Rag & Bone , Prabal Gurung and Mary Katrantzou.

To add a touch of  hydrating shimmer, Tom Ford’s Lip Shimmers are a hydrating balm the perfect addition to any make-up bag. Much like the Ultra Shine Lip Glosses of the signature line, they can be worn alone or over lipstick to give lips another dimension; whilst keeping lips much more hydrated than any gloss in summer ever could.

Add to that the four high-impact glossy varnishes from Sugar Dune nude to Coral Beach and you can literally spend the whole summer rocking Tom Ford.

Tom Ford Nail Lacquer £26, Tom Ford Lip Colour £36. Available now at Harrods & Selfridges.
Tom Ford Eye and Cheek Compact, £68.00; Tom Ford Lip Shimmer £36.00; Available in April from Selfridges, Harrods & Tom Ford.
