Best Dressed at The Met Ball 2014

The 2014 Met Ball was a return to glory. After the A-list struggled to get to grips with last year’s Punk theme, this year’s Charles James inspired-dress code was easy, it was all about gowns.

The models did seem to take the crown this year. Naomi Campbell was out in Givenchy, Lily Donaldson in a white halter, Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa, Gisele in Balenciaga, Ming Xi and Arizona Muse in Zac PosenRosie H-W in Balmain, Georgia May Jagger in custom Mugler and Dree Hemingway in Proenza Schouler all looked incredible.

Yet as always there some scene-stealers: Kendall Jenner in custom Topshop, took Instagram by storm for her first Met Ball. Cara Delevingne was original as ever in a monochromatic crop top and tailored trouser number from Stella McCartney, joined by fellow standout Stella girl Rihanna, who wore an all white crop top and gown skirt, with the best back of the night.

The actresses, didn’t let the models steal all of the attention though; Leighton Meester opted for an unlikely but perfect match in Pucci, Blake Lively was all bombeshell in Gucci, Marion Cotillard was cute in Dior Couture and Zoe Saldana was pure class in Michael Kors.

And then there was Beyonce, who went for a veil to match her Givenchy Couture. Special shout out to Kim Kardashian for selecting midnight blue Lanvin and leaving the florals at home.
