Yesterday saw the first Cruise show of the season, staged by Dior.
The show was an extravagant start to the season as attendees were whisked from Brooklyn in a Dior branded cruise ship (very fitting).
The show itself was an extension of the seasons before with 1940s Dior style blazers reworked, painterly prints, and demure silhouettes with subversive twists- paper thin sheer chiffon, peek-a-boo lace applique and origami slits.
As always, it was the Front Row that commands our attention for now at least and it was a treat, Marion Cotillard was relaxed in an embellished T-shirt dress and Margot Robbie in a prim two-piece given life by Dior’s SS14 beaded choker.
It was Rihanna and Olivia Palermo who stole the show for Blush though. Rih Rih, who seems to be having a pastel moment, opted for a ladylike powder pink shift with fluted hem, a high ponytail and bright red lipstick.
Palermo, shocked in a leather mini with a thigh high slit which, she naturally made pretty with a lace cami, fringed bolero and her signature perfect blow-dry. Though the two semi-swapped places sartorially, they demonstrated the perfect the balance and some rather incredible shoes.
