Cannes continued to grow in the glamour stakes with Cate Blanchett, Kendall Jenner, Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman all taking to the Red Carpet, in the most exquisite of gowns. Yet there was one woman who continuously stole the show and she didn’t even need Ryan Reynolds to do it.
On Cannes’ first day Blake Lively sported the most enviable of ponytails- high, sleek, loosely braided perfection. The actress, who made her public return at this month’s Met Ball in a champagne Gucci gown, opted for Gucci again, in a bordeaux halter and matching Lorraine Schwartz rubies. An embellished brocade Giambattista Valli mini and giant flower earring, followed white Chanel Couture and Sophia Webster heels.
Whilst Blake was a constant vision, she wasn’t the only winner at Cannes. Frida Pinto was divine in bordeaux lipstick and a blush Michael Kors feathered gown, at the screening of the Saint Laurent film. Salma Hayek, who also attended the screening, wore fuchsia Saint Laurent, and oozed South of France ease with tousled curls and an arm cuff.
Jennifer Lawrence matched her blonde bob to a Christian Dior cropped top and A-line miniskirt combo at the screening of the latest Hunger Games.
Electric blue was also a big hit: with Jessica Chastain amping it up in asymmetric Atelier Versace and Liya Kebede looking effortlessly cool by the pool in Calvin Klein at the brand’s Cannes party.
