The SS14 catwalk offered up two differing, but equally striking, ways to wear white eyeliner.
Kenzo’s bold wave of white across the eyelid, was in-keeping with the oceanic graphics of the collection.
Also drawing inspiration from the aquatic, for her London Aquarium-inspired show, J. JS Lee opted for a softer take, with a sweep of white kohl in the water line; A minimalist approach to counter models’ punchy pink lips.
To create the striking crest of white seen at Kenzo, use M.A.C Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Chrome (£15, M.A.C). This look demands a steady hand, making M.A.C’s paint pot ideal; simply keep close to the lash, thickening towards the end. Any errors can be easily erased with a cotton bud.
J. JS Lee showed how to adopt the white eyeliner trend in a more subdued way; proving it to be the ideal accompaniment to a statement lip.
If nothing else, it’s ridiculously easy and instantly makes you look more awake. All you need is a white eye pencil. Shu Uemera‘s is great (£17, Space NK).
