So LFW is in full swing and it’s been a stellar season so far.
Simone Rocha, Jonathan Saunders and JW Anderson have all wowed with bright and graphic collections; although Simone’s was very much a love letter to the centuries that came before, with her sexy reconstruction of brocades and check.
There were also fantastic collections from up and comers Claire Barrow, Sadie Williams and Faustine Steinmeitz; as well as hot new one to watch Beth Postle, who debuted at the CSM Grad show with show-stopping primary graphics.
Whilst it’s no surprise that LFW has been a hot bed of creativity once again, what is surprising is the new emphasis on beauty. Mary Katrantzou echoed Dior with her top and bottom eyeliner cubes. JW Anderson lets his singular statement earrings do the talking on models with bare faces and barely there brows and at House of Holland, Pat McGrath’s signature inky smudges were recreated in washed out blacks.
And that’s just from the weekend. This LFW is shaping up to be one of the best yet.
