I must admit I love a bit of gingham. I have an old picture of me as a 90s 9-year-old giving the peace sign somewhere in Paris, wearing a tie waist gingham shirt and denim shorts. Whilst it may have been worryingly too close to Daisy Duke, whenever I look at that pic, I can’t help thinking ‘that kid’s got swag’.
So since Jospeh Altuzurra showed Gingham for SS15 last September, I have been impatiently waiting for the moment where its sunny enough to wear it out. Judging by last week’s red carpets alone, I think it’s finally time. Dree Hemingway offered up the coolest way to wear Gingham this season: with fuss free centre-parted hair, a black bralet and a gingham midi, dressed up with sandals (although I think this is the perfect outfit to get those Stannies out for.)
Lily James gave a lesson in grown up Gingham, whilst Laura Bailey showed off the summer dress that we all want, for days spent frolicking in Victoria Park.
Whether you’re taking inspiration from the red carpet, the catwalk or Daisy Duke; it’s finally the time to get ginghamed up.
