I was all set to write about this season’s must have sunnies, but what with the weather, it doesn’t seem quite right yet.
Instead I have opted for optimism in the form of nail varnish and the many springy shades on offer. Normally around this time of year, I’ll turn to classic reds, coral, or orange, with a pretty pastel or two, thrown in for good measure. But the other day for the first time in 16 years I left the house without any nail varnish on. Perhaps I was taking my own advice and opting for the whole nude nail thing, but in truth I couldn’t (and really couldn’t be arsed to) think. So I went rogue and wore nothing.
Suffice to say, it only lasted a day, but it was my own little spring clean that helped me see my already bulging collection with new eyes. The muted pink Chanel, the Liz Earle dove grey and Chanel mermaid metallic mint all of a sudden seemed new. So this week’s Get the Look is in favour of all things springy. Seeing as we have at least another week to not think about tanning, or bikini shopping or any of the horrendous tasks that come with prepping for Summer, we may as well just paint our nails and enjoy it.
Soft, shimmery and sheer, this metallic mint, belongs on the beach, think less Victoria’s Secret, more Valentino’s SS15 mermaids.
