Get the Look – Anti-Summer Style

Summer is in full swing and whilst it’s tempting to whip out those denim cut-offs, if you hadn’t noticed, we’ve grown up a little this past year. No more beanies, no more slogans, no more pink hair- and even though it would be rude not rock all of the above at SGP, Wilderness and Lovebox, everyday London life calls for a little more togetherness. This summer, stars eschewed camis and coral silk dresses for LBDs, teenage kohl and autumn/winter exclusives; and I have to say, until I’m sunning myself in Sardinia, I’ll be channelling Givenchy’s SS15 dark romanticism, in true anti-summer style.

Summer calls for a fresh face and a touch of bronzer, usually  relegated to the Christmas party style guides- unless you’re Charlotte Tilbury who’s made Bardot worthy black her signature- jet black liner takes form as unexpected breath of fresh air in summer; case in point Josephine de le Baume.

Mono stripes (or just mono in general)
Nothing screams 60s St Tropez like a good old Breton. Sailor stripes in blue (or red if you’re out there,) and a nautical decoration of some sort, exude yacht life; as it’s bad-ass big sister, 2015 is all about the black and white Givenchy stripe.

Black in summer is not new, but there is no way better to stand out in a sea of florals and fuchsia than a crisp black dress. Perfection.
