The humble half up/half down has been m.i.a of late, but thanks to a little creativity and (a lot of) top knot fatigue, the school girl’s go to look is back, and is all grown up.
It started at the Givenchy SS16 show with Joan Smalls- and whilst I’m not quite sure whether Joan was so exhausted after walking the grueling Givenchy catwalk that floored poor Candice Swanepoel- that she just decided to shove most of her hair on top of her head, it can’t be denied that it was quite the contagious look. Days later London It-girls Poppy Delevingne and Amber le Bon, both sported the new up-do on the FROW at Michael Kors, as did model Constance Jablonski at the same show.
The trick to achieving the look is to basically create a top knot, leaving a little strip of your hair out at the back. It’s kind of the modern day mullet and it kind of works.
