I feel like my love for berry lips has been well-documented; and whilst I love the cool nonchalance of a matte nearly-black berry lip, a little high voltage glamour never hurt.
I’ve been hitting Pintrest hard recently, and it’s such a great resource if you’re in a make-up rut. I’m always inspired by the revelry of the Studio 54 era but this week has been a bit of a wild one and I feel like I may as well go with it and go harder. So, this weekend I’ll be upping the ante with some glossy red lips.
I have to say that I’m not quite ready to buy a glossy lipstick- matte is still the only finish I fancy – so the only logical solution is to funk up a matte you already have with a gloss. As you may have read, I finally discovered the point of lip gloss– it’s moisture locking qualities are a godsend during these chappy winter months.
Thankfully Clarins have officially launched their Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil (£18) – an oil infused lip gloss enriched with raspberry and organic jojoba – to give lips an extra hit of hydration.
I’ll be using it to give my Tom Ford Ruby Rush (£38) matte red lipstick, a new lease of life – in the hope it will do the same for my insides.
To get the look, go classic and wear with an eyeliner flick, or take inspiration from the look of the season and team with glossy or shimmery champagne lids and a few coats of mascara.
TGIF. We made it!
