Get the Look – The Pun

If 2015 was the year of the half up half down ‘Hun’, this year it’s all about the Ponytail moonlighting as a Bun, or Pun as we’ve decided we’ll be calling it at Blush.

Blush show you how to Get the Look.

As we finally get ready to wave goodbye to the cold, dark wintery nights and welcome the warm, sunshiny days of Spring, what better way to refresh your look than with the hot new trend the The Pun.

The Pun is half ponytail half bun and is a versatile style that will suit anyone and is so simple to do yourself.

Wear it sleek and smooth for a Saturday night out with the girls, or casual and messy on a lazy sunday afternoon.

Seen on the catwalk at Vivienne Westwood, Bottega Veneta and Tanya Taylor for SS16 collections this is set to be the hairstyle of the season.  With celebrity fans ranging from the super sexy Jennifer Lopez ,to alt-girl favourite Rooney Mara  this really is an easy look for everyone.

The Inspiration:

Get the Look:

Look 1 – Smooth

Firstly on dry hair apply a 2 pumps of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum from roots to ends and use a non static bristle brush to smooth all of your hair and tie up into a ponytail using an elastic band.

Split the hair in the ponytail into 2 sections, apply more serum for ultra smoothness and twist each section.

The Pun

Wrap one section of twisted hair up and around the ponytail secure with kirby grip. then wrap the other twist around in the opposite direction to create the look of a bun securing again with a kirby grip.

Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine

Leave the ends out and finish with Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine Hairspray.

Look 2 – Messy

On damp hair apply Paul Mitchell Extra Body Thicken Up to ends, spray Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Boost directly to roots and blast dry.

Tip your head upside down and using your fingers gather your hair and tie hair with an elastic band up into a ponytail.

Twist the hair length and wrap around the elastic and secure with another elastic leaving the ends out.

NB. Look 2 is the perfect way to tame holiday hair.

Use Alterna Boho Waves, for beachy hair that will add even more texture to this look.
