August Favourites That You Need in Your Life

So it’s been a while since I last posted, and for that I am truly sorry. Slapp is consuming all of my time, but if you are looking for some Beauty advice, or news on the latest launches, I would suggest heading over to the app.

In other news, I have been trying out a lot of products of late. There are, quite a few that sadly didn’t make the grade, or broke me out, but no matter, I have lots to keep you entertained.

So where do I begin?

Eyeliner isn’t exactly a summer staple, but sometimes, it’s quite nice when you’re feeling in an anti-sunshine mood, or are looking for a boost for a sultry evening eye. If either apply, I would thoroughly recommend the Pixi Kohl liner. I’m pretty sure I’m yet to find a blacker, or more long-lasting kohl. I’m sorry MAC but you have finally been usurped!

In the lip liner stakes, however, MAC has ruled supreme for me this Summer and last, with the Chestnut lip liner: a perfect brown liner, that literally goes with everything I own. Occasionally you will see me out and about with just outlined lips, because, even if I forget to apply lipstick, this is never left behind.

TOM Ford Concealer Pen review

On the Concealer and Foundation front, I have a few new faves. Tom Ford’s Concealer is a definite winner, thanks to gorgeous packaging, an alleviating eye sponge, and perfect colour match. Ever so slightly trumping it, is the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer, which, may not be as pretty, but is an absolute must, on particularly Panda-esque mornings, or whenever I need a concealer to last the day (and night.)

nip fab foundation review

Foundation-wise, the Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation, is still a summer must, but the Np & Fab Foundation has become my every day go-to. I’m not sure how Nip & Fab have done it, but they have literally created my ideal foundation: rich, dewy and long-lasting. I do slightly have to adjust the shade with their lightening drops, but hey, small price to pay.

bare minerals oil obsessed

On the skincare front, I have been on quite the journey. My skin went from massively dehydrated to, annoyingly oily. The products that have kept me going, are the Epara Facial Oil Cleanser, the bare Minerals Cleansing Oil which I have been going back to all year. It is great for taking off makeup and if you’re about that double cleanse life.

Another favourite has been the Pixi Glow Tonic, which I heard about via Jourdan Dunn, and am kind of addicted to. Last but not least in my list of facial skincare musts, is the Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream, which is probably the only night cream where one application will suffice, and I don’t wake up feeling dry as a pie.

In body news, the & Other Stories Sardonyx Body scrub, is quite the saviour, in that it has some type of gloopy gelling agent, that means you don’t lose half the scrub, on its journey from the tub to your body.

Stories body scrub review

Lotion-wise Aveeno is king. I’m not sure why it took me so long to get onto the Aveeno bandwagon, but this is awesome stuff. My skin has truly never felt softer, and every time I get verge close to the end of the tub, I die a little inside. This is the stuff strokable skin is made of.

More monthly faves to come soon. In the meantime, check out Slapp; it’s kind of awesome.
