Testing the Treatment – Massages at Blush + Blow and Park Plaza’s Aurora Spa

I’m always on the lookout for new treatments and am more than happy to sacrifice my face/body in the name of beauty.

I’ve recently tried two fantastic massages that are must visits for this Bank Holiday weekend.

First up is The Aurora Spa at Westminster’s Park Plaza. This spa is a little gem. It may not have all of the bells and whistles of other hotel spas, but the treatments most definitely match up.

I was invited down to trial their chocolate body massage in time for Easter. I was greeted by a super lovely lady at reception, who escorted me to the private changing room, where I wrapped myself up in a park plaza robe and slippers (is there anything better than hotel slippers?)

After taking a suitable amount of mirror selfies, I sashayed over to the treatment room.

The friendly beautician met me in a near pitch black room, only lit by candles. I was massaged with oils and given a a good scrub, before being slathered in delightfully smelling chocolate. I literally wanted to eat myself it smelt so good!

I was wrapped up in cellophane and allowed to relax before washing it off in the private shower. I was then scrubbed a little more and massaged again with an arresting medley of essential oils.

This is a true treat and a fantastic gift for a loved one (or yourself).

My skin was left irresistibly soft and the entire experience was dreamy. Wish I’d booked in for two hours!

Next on my list is quite possibly the prettiest local salon I’ve visited.

Blush + Blow is what you dream every local salon will be like. Girly but grown up; clean and minimal, with tons of magazines, neons and parquet flooring. (Heaven!)

The salon which is located on the New Kings Road, is a gorgeous 2 minutes stroll from the tube, through the park.

The salon is known for its super fast and fuss-free blow dries, but I was in need of a massage. I arrived a little early and think I may have mistaken a salon friend for the receptionist, as she gave me a rather frosty reception. I decided to flick through Vogue whilst I waited and was soon greeted by my super friendly therapist Miranda.

She guided me to the treatment room downstairs, which was an oasis of calm from the upstairs action.

The treatment room was super cute but a little chilly, especially when in nothing but a towel. I would definitely recommend a heated blanket or two, as the chill was a little distracting. Miranda was quick to notice and kindly offered me another towel to keep warm.

Discounting this, the massage was fantastic. I was oiled, kneaded and left knot free.

I was really impressed with the salon and totally think that as they specialise in blow outs, I would have no complaints in this department.

If you’re looking for the perfect place for a pamper session with the girls, this is a fantastic spot and it is oh so instagrammable!
